Kalahandi, Bolangir, Koraput – known as the KBK districts in Odisha are some of the most backward and deprived regions in India inspite of their rich resources. These are also the hot-spots of distress migration and ascending left-wing extremist violence. Migrant labourers are most of the time subject to inhuman working conditions in the land of opportunity. A group of grassroots organisations join hands with the government, leveraging MGNREGA to mitigate distress migration.
